Case Study
A legal firm purchases a computer from a well-known mail order company. Then the firm calls TAB® to schedule the installation of that computer on their network. The installation date comes and goes but no computer has been delivered. The legal firm calls the mail order company to check the status of the late computer and reschedules the installation with us. The mail order computer eventually arrives and TAB starts the installation. The new computer will not connect to network. A TAB® technician spends 2 hours on the telephone with mail order company technical support trying to resolve the problem.
The mail order company decides that the computer network card is bad and will send a new one. TAB® bills the client for 2 hours of installation time and will be called back when new card is received. Two days later, the mail order company's technician replaces the defective network card. The client calls TAB® to try to install the computer again, which is completed. TAB® bills the client for 1 hour of additional installation time.
If the legal firm had purchased a TAB® computer system, it would have only incurred one hour of installation expense and had a much smoother and timely installation. The mail order computer is under warranty from that company in Texas. Should the computer have other problems, it can only be repaired at the mail order company's response level.
