Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Tier 3 Engineer / Project Engineer to join our In-House team of dedicated professionals who provide exceptional service and technical support to our clients.

The Tier 3 In-House Engineer / Project Engineer is a senior-level technical role responsible for handling escalated technical support issues, leading complex infrastructure projects, and mentoring internal staff. This individual will possess expert-level knowledge in both cloud and on-premises environments, with a strong focus on security, documentation, and client-facing communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the final escalation point for in-house technical support and ticket resolution.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in cloud solutions, with a primary focus on Microsoft environments, while maintaining proficiency in alternative cloud providers.
  • Demonstrate expertise in on-premises server solutions, including virtual hosting and role management.
  • Lead cloud migration projects, including on-premises-to-cloud, tenant-to-tenant, and alternative provider-to-Microsoft 365 transitions.
  • Implement and manage security solutions, including multi-factor authentication (MFA) from conception to deployment.
  • Provide thorough documentation, training, and knowledge transfer to client personnel and internal teams.
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering professional growth and knowledge-sharing.
  • Manage and troubleshoot network devices such as firewalls, wireless access points, and switch infrastructure, including segmentation.
  • Respond to and resolve Priority One incidents related to servers, networks, and IT infrastructure, including on-site troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Contribute to TAB’s overall security posture and compliance efforts, both internally and for clients.
  • Collaborate on client onboarding and offboarding projects to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Develop proficiency in TAB’s services and portals to support internal teams effectively.
  • Participate in TAB’s after-hours rotational support schedule, initially as a secondary/tertiary role.
Required Technical Skills
  • Expertise in Windows Server operating systems (2025 and earlier) and related roles.
  • Advanced knowledge of virtualization technologies, including Hyper-V and VMware.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Azure, and on-premises Exchange and migration tools.
  • Strong understanding of Windows 11 and 10 operating systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, VLANs, VPNs, and QoS.
  • Familiarity with security tools such as MDR, EDR, and antivirus solutions.
  • Knowledge of VoIP systems.

  • Strong ability to multitask and manage multiple concurrent projects/migrations.
  • Commitment to developing, following, and refining standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ability to operate within defined engagement expectations and communicate effectively throughout projects.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to consider multiple perspectives.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a passion for collaboration and mentorship.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5+ years of industry experience in a similar role.
  • Industry certifications include Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Security+, SonicWall, Windows Client, and Windows Server.
  • A degree in Information Technology or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Willingness to obtain product certifications as needed.
    Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to document tasks thoroughly.
Physical Requirements
  • Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to sit and stand for a period of time.
  • Vision to read printed materials and see a computer screen; and hearing and speech (English Language) to communicate in person and over the telephone.
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.

TAB operates a 24/7 support service, and technicians are occasionally required to assist during evenings or weekends in the event of a client emergency on a rotational basis.
