Field Services Technician

Position Overview

As an Field Services Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Traveling to client locations to provide on-site support within a 2-hour radius of our office
  • Configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of:
    • Windows PCs, including software and hardware.
    • Network devices like switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networks.
    • Printers and other peripheral devices.
  • Server troubleshooting, including Active Directory and associated services.
  • Utilizing the ConnectWise suite of tools for detailed documentation, issue tracking, and seamless client communication.
  • Participating in an after-hours rotation, typically three to four times each year.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Skills

Operating Systems & Virtualization

  • Microsoft Windows 10 & 11.
  • Windows Server (2012R2–2025).
  • Virtualization platforms: Hyper-V and VMware

Networking

  • LAN, WAN, and WLAN configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Protocols, QoS, VLANs, and related hardware.
  • VPN setup and troubleshooting (site-to-site and client-to-site).
  • Firewall and router configuration.

Security & Compliance

  • Multifactor authentication (2FA) setup and management.
  • Familiarity with MDR, EDR, and antivirus solutions.

Collaboration & Communication Tools

  • Microsoft 365 administration (Email, OneDrive, SharePoint, Azure).
  • On-premises Exchange Server.
  • Basic configuration and troubleshooting of VOIP systems.

Preferred Certifications

  • A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft 365, SonicWall, Windows Client/Server.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in the IT industry (3 years minimum)
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to approach challenges creatively and consider multiple perspectives.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to document tasks thoroughly.
  • Reliable vehicle for travel to client sites. The vehicle must be registered and insured, and candidate must have a valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to sit and stand for a period of time.
  • Vision to read printed materials and see a computer screen; and hearing and speech (English Language) to communicate in person and over the telephone.

Additional Details
  • TAB operates a 24/7 support service, and technicians are occasionally required to assist during evenings or weekends in the event of a client emergency on a rotational basis.
